Description

Document the administration of undergraduate academic standards of the university as they pertain to the level of academic performance and progress toward a degree. Does not include conduct violations investigations.  

These records found in all media (paper, digital, or other) may include but are not limited to: 

  • petitions; 
  • recording of decisions reached by committees deliberating these matters, including the Scholastic Review Committee or other groups charged with reviewing petitions and requests;
  • notifications/letters informing students of committee's actions/decisions;
  • notices of academic action related to academic non-performance or deficiency, such as academic warnings, notifications of probation; and,
  • related documentation. 
Retention and Disposal Instructions

(a) retain records of academic dismissal in perpetuity;

(b) all other records, 5 years after final decision, purge.

Exception: In the event of a subpoena, audit, legal hold, public records or similar state or federal information request, halt until further instructed any scheduled disposal activities, including purging or transferring material to University Archives.
