Document the pre-employment or periodic criminal, credit and related background checks for designated positions as necessary to ensure a safe and secure work environment in which university faculty, staff, students, resources and assets are protected. This series also covers fingerprint-based criminal records checks performed on prospective or current staff, faculty, and volunteers by the agency, and typically include personally identifiable information (PII) and indication of the existence or absence of criminal record.
These records found in all media (paper, digital, or other) may include but are not limited to:
(a) As soon as administrative use ceases for background check log, purge;
(b) 90 days for all other related material, purge.
