Description

Document latent fingerprints and palm-prints found at crime scenes without identification of suspects. These are compared against cards on file at the agency. Usually contains information related to the crime, location, date and time, and other details of the case.

Retention and Disposal Instructions

(a) Unnatural death: 75 years, purge;

(b) Sexual felonies defined in ORS 131.125: 27 years, purge;

(c) Other felonies: 6 years, purge;

(d) Other offenses: 3 years, purge.

Exception: In the event of a subpoena, audit, legal hold, public records or similar state or federal information request, halt until further instructed any scheduled disposal activities, including purging or transferring material to University Archives.
