Notes written by officers during the course of a shift containing information which may or may not be included in an official report. May pertain to contacts, incidents, unusual circumstances, and other subjects. Useful for referral in writing reports and testifying in court. Information includes names, dates, times, vehicles, activities, locations, and related data.
Note: Officer notes recorded on handheld electronic devices are public records under ORS 192 and subject to the same retention as the paper record unless the information is kept in another format for the duration of the retention period.

Exception: In the event of a subpoena, audit, legal hold, public records or similar state or federal information request, halt until further instructed any scheduled disposal activities, including purging or transferring material to University Archives.
