Document gross income earned by the non-Federal entity that is directly generated by a supported activity or earned as a result of the Federal award during the period of performance as described by 2 CFR 200.307.
These records found in all media (paper, digital, or other) may include but are not limited to:
3 years from the date of submission of the final expenditure report or, for Federal awards that are renewed quarterly or annually, from the date of the submission of the quarterly or annual financial report, respectively, as reported to the Federal awarding agency or pass-through entity in the case of a subrecipient, unless otherwise specified by the terms of the agreement, purge. Note: "In some cases recipients must report program income after the period of performance. Where there is such a requirement, the retention period for the records pertaining to the earning of the program income starts from the end of the non-Federal entity’s fiscal year in which the program income is earned" see 2 CFR 200.333(e).
Exception: In the event of a subpoena, audit, legal hold, public records or similar state or federal information request, halt until further instructed any scheduled disposal activities, including purging or transferring material to University Archives.
